Donate to the Friends of Durham Cathedral

If you would like to share with the Friends in the great privilege of supporting and caring for Durham Cathedral, there are various ways in which you can help:

  • become a member by paying an annual or life subscription
  • give a single donation, perhaps to mark some special occasion or in memory of a loved one
  • consider giving the Friends a legacy in your will: for more details, contact the Honorary Treasurer at the Friends’ Office

To make a donation online, please complete the form opposite. You can pay by credit/debit card or using a PayPal account. If you would prefer, you can send a cheque to the Friends’ Office, payable to ‘Friends of Durham Cathedral’.

As part of the Cathedral’s Open Treasure project, Friends have been given the opportunity to contribute individually towards the display of St Cuthbert’s wooden coffin, which will be the centrepiece of the new exhibition in the refurbished Great Kitchen. To learn more about this Cuthbert Appeal, read the letter from the Chairman of the Friends; and if you would like to contribute, download a donation form or donate using the form opposite.

By ticking the Gift Aid box, I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for the current tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand Friends of Durham Cathedral will be able to reclaim 25p of tax on every 1 that I give.
